Our first backpack belated honeymoon trip to Austria--Day 3 (Heiligentblut)

Our second destination --Heiligenblut. Heiligenblut is a small and peaceful town in the mountain. The name "Heiligenblut" means "Holy Blood". Not many travel guide books mention this beautiful place. But if you go for some scenic view, this is a MUST GO place.

From Innsbruck to Heiligenblut, it is quite complicated. First, we needed to take a local train to Lienz. Then, we had to change the postbus to Heiligenblut. After that, we had to change another postbus to go up the mountain.

The outlook of the pension.

This was the pension room. We stayed here for two nights. There was a balcony too.

The first meal we had in Heiligenblut. You could see the highest point of Austria. We would go there tomorrow.

Beer is a famous culture in Europe. The price of a bottle of beer is cheaper than a bottle of water. (Crazy?!) Mrs. Lui had never drunk any sip of beer because she didn't like the smell of alcohol. This was her first time to drink beer in Heiligenblut. Her comment: Wow! Nice! Another glass for me please!

After lunch, we walked around the town. The scenry was awesome.

This is the only church in Heiligenblut. People said the church had stored a drop of Jesus Christ's blood. And this was the reason why this town called "Heiligenblut".
Mr. Lui sang "Holaholalehewho", the theme song of the cartoon "Heidi" when he saw this view.

The river is clear blue.

Does it worth for a long and complicated journey to Heiligenblut? The Lui's said" DEFINIATLY YES".

The sun came out finally. We believed that we would have a good weather for tomorrow! Thank you Lord!
